WINDSOR MICROTRANSIT SERVICE STARTS UP

Release Date: January 26, 2023

WINDSOR, VT   The free microtransit service in Windsor, named the MicroMOO, started Monday, January 23rd at 6:00 am. Microtransit is Uber with a van.

This free service is open to everyone and provides rides by reservation only anywhere within the town limits of Windsor and along Route 5 from Windsor’s northern boundary to the Exit 9 Park & Ride. Service runs Monday-Friday 6:00 am-6:00 pm.

The first week of the service has been affected by two storms but riders are using the service to go to doctor’s appointments, shopping, and visiting friends and family.

Reservations are required as the van will not stop along the route to pick up riders up who attempt to flag the van down. The van is lift-equipped and can seat up to eight riders at a time. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

To make a reservation call 1-888-869-6287, option 6. Riders can also download an app called Qryde,  and can book online at https://cp-micromoo.qryde.com/cp/ .

“We are so fortunate to have the funding from the Vermont Agency of Transportation, as well as the support of our Core Team and Mt. Ascutney Hospital,” said Randy Schoonmaker, SEVT CEO. “Windsor is a great town to test the microtransit concept. We look forward to serving you!”
